You've got the love?

with the remote in one hand and a tissue in the other, my day was filled with nothing but TV, sleep, and nose blowing. whoever thought up the idea of tv marathons deserves a medal.. a big gold medal..
this weekend alone ive watched a project runway marathon, an america's next top model marathon, and todays marathon : sex and the city final season

DON'T JUDGE.

hah but on to the point of this whole post.. the last scene of sex and the city you see carrie skipping off into the crowded streets of new york to some catchy song.. but hey, wait..
ive heard this song before ..
THE SONG IS YOU'VE GOT THE LOVE BY FLORENCE + THE MACHINE!

as the song was playing and carrie was ladida-ing down the street
i kept thinking to myself : woah this song is older than i thought
: florence has been around longer than i thought
                                        : how OLD is florence!?
: i really need to get this remix on itunes

i got to my computer and typed in "sex and the city series finale song" and there popped you've got the love

it never dawned on me that maybe florence and the machine covered the song..
well she did and not only did i find that out, but the song " you've got the love" has some history

 wikipedia as always, very helpful
"You Got the Love" is a 1986 single by the band The Source and Candi Staton. One of its many remixers also adopted the name The Source.[2] In 2008, the song was recorded by English soul singer Joss Stone for her fourth studio album, "Colour Me Free!" released in October 2009. In November 2009, another cover version was released as a single by English indie rock bandFlorence & The Machine.
